Barcode readers cannot be substitued for barcode verifiers. Readers used in different light conditions and various angles, of various makes, models, technologies and ages all perform differently. One reader may read a particular barcode while another won’t. Only an ISO rated barcode verifier can carry out the correct tests and provide you with the performance and conformance data you need for due diligence.
